Compu-Challenge

CompuChallenge, is an on-site computer-based employment program within the Community Services for people with severe physical disabilities.  The primary goal of the program is to enhance the quality of life of the consumer, to promote their integration into the community, and teach new skills.

The primary goal of the program is achieved through three main objectives.  First, a small, office-like environment with appropriate adaptive renovations, furnishings and computer stations are provided.  Secondly, functional living skills and social skills development are supported through a variety of programs with trained staff to assist the individuals.  Skills acquisition and personal growth is maximized by providing at LFC a safe environment for learning and growing from past mistakes to greater growth and self-confidence.  Lastly, life enhancement is achieved by identifying areas through an Independent Service Plan (ISP) ways to improve the quality of life of the consumer.

The consumers complete word processing and data entry contracts when these contracts are secured from outside companies at state-of-the-art computer stations while also learning job skills and working on various learning projects.
